India will soon adopt an Israeli technology to rejuvenate mango trees and will increase the productivity of the crop. The National Horticulture Board (NHB) had placed orders for two Israeli Canopy Management Pruning Machines, which could mechanically rejuvenate trees in large areas, said Bijay Kumar, managing director, NHB.
The first machine would arrive very shortly and would be given to the Indian Institute of Horticultural Institute, Bengaluru. The other would arrive in June and would be given to the Central Institute for Subtropical Horticulture, Lucknow, for better acclimation, Kumar added.
